The dwelling of the Taoiseach

Dear Sir,

I find it genuinely disturbing to learn that the Taoiseach’s home and family have been subjected to menacing internet protests (“Instagram threats of an ‘especially menacing’ nature towards Taoiseach and his family under Garda investigation”, News, August 6th).

Is it not high time we contemplate affording the Taoiseach a state granted private residence that is secure? It is perhaps astonishing to note that our nation is among a scant few globally where the head of government continues to inhabit their family’s dwelling in a residential neighbourhood.

Yours faithfully,
Bill Kee,
Skerries, County Dublin.
