The cost for a measure of beer

I clearly recall the day when for the first time, the cost of a pint exceeded £1. I was seated at a pub counter in Dublin, a sombre hush overcoming the crowd. However, the atmosphere considerably lifted when a fellow patron boomed, “Oh, don’t worry about the cost. As long as there’s no shortage!” Kind Regards,
