Dear Sir,
In a news article dated 7th March under Business, we learn that Dublin Airport is faced with a sizable penalty of €10 million due to lacklustre hygiene standards in toilets and protracted waiting times in the security queues. This conclusion was reached following passenger feedback surveys.
Moreover, the writeup also informs us that, paradoxically, the State-run company won’t be footing the bill directly for the imposed fine. Rather, the punishment has been conveniently accommodated into DAA’s passenger tariffs, a cost burden that the firm places on airlines.
This situation exemplifies the sad reality in our nation where corporations aren’t genuinely penalised for their shortcomings. Understandably, it’s always the consumer that takes the brunt of such implications.
Indignant,
