Teens Die in Mayo Crash

Two teenagers lost their lives in a vehicle crash involving a tractor in County Mayo on Friday evening. The accident, on the N83, took place shortly after 8pm, necessitating the presence of local police forces and emergency services. Of the car occupants, both a juvenile male and a young man, both in their teens, sustained fatal injuries in the crash, authorities confirmed.

Another teenager riding in the car was transported to Mayo University Hospital, where his condition is reportedly severe. The tractor’s driver, a man in his 50s, also received medical attention at Mayo University Hospital, though his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A family liaison officer has been appointed to assist the families of the victims during this testing time, according to the police. The ongoing investigation has led to the closure of the road till Saturday morning for a detailed technical assessment by police forensic collision investigators.
