Tragically, a 17-year-old lost his life due to a single car accident that occurred on Banbridge Road, Rathfriland, this past Saturday. The victim, identified as Jack Morrow, was a passenger in a red VW Golf that crashed shortly before 2:30 in the morning.
PSNI Inspector Cherith Adair stated, “Jack, a Rathfriland local, unfortunately died at the scene of the accident. Additionally, a 19-year-old male, who was present in the car at the moment of the crash, was rushed to hospital to receive treatment for his severe injuries.
Following the accident, Banbridge Road was temporarily shut down but has since been reopened.
Inspector Adair added, “We are currently investigating the accident and urge anyone who was in the vicinity at the time, particularly those with any dash cam or mobile phone footage, to reach out to us by dialling 101. When calling, please quote the reference number 149 25/05/24.”
