Teen Charged with Stabbing Army Priest

A 16-year-old male has been brought before the Galway District Court, facing charges related to the knifing of a clergyman in Renmore Barracks, County Galway, last Thursday. The teenager is currently held in detention to reappear in court the coming Tuesday. His identity is protected due to legal constraints as he is underaged.

The violent incident happened shortly before 11pm on the previous Thursday, resulting in the hospitalisation of Defence Forces pastor, Paul F Murphy, 52, who suffered serious injuries, though not endangering his life.

The case is currently under active investigation.
