Tech Tycoon Lynch Likely Suffocated

The untimely demise of tech magnate Mike Lynch, who lost his life due to oxygen deprivation, has been confirmed by an investigative source citing preliminary examinations conducted after the retrieval of his body from the luxuriant family yacht, which tragically sank near the coast of Sicily last month. The British entrepreneur of Irish descent, his 18-year-old daughter Hannah, a yacht chef and four guests tragically lost their lives when the British superyacht, the Bayesian, submerged unexpectedly during a sudden harsh weather occurrence close to the Porticello port, near Palermo, on the 19th of August.

The early findings from the post-mortem assessment of Hannah Lynch’s body, conducted this Saturday, failed to provide a clear cause of death. No injuries or trauma marks were detected, hence it is speculated that she may have either faced depleted oxygen supply or succumbed to drowning. Most victims, bar the yacht’s chef, had retreated to cabins located on the port side of the 56-metre vessel where it is believed they were seeking residual air pockets, intimated the Palermo Fire Brigade’s chief last month.

Initial reports from autopsies of additional victims, namely Morgan Stanley International’s chairman Jonathan Bloomer, his spouse Judith, a solicitor named Chris Morvillo and his spouse Neda suggested suffocation to be the probable cause of death, as per the information made available by judicial sources this week.

Survivors include Lynch’s spouse who was also the owner of the Bayesian, and the yacht’s skipper, totalling a count of 15. Recaldo Thomas, the onboard chef from Canada-Antigua, however, is believed to have drowned, stated the investigative source this Saturday.

Additional forensic examinations have been commissioned for all the victims, and investigative authorities are expecting results in the forthcoming weeks, added the source.

The incident has left naval experts bewildered, as a yacht of Bayesian’s calibre, built by luxe yacht producer Perini, a subsidiary of Italian Sea Group, should have been capable of withstanding the harsh weather conditions, instead of sinking unexpectedly. Source: Reuters
