“Taoiseach: Bomb Hoax Intended to Intimidate”

In a recent statement, Taoiseach Simon Harris condemned the bomb hoax that occurred at his residence, labelling it as an act meant to “intimidate and upset” his household. He denounced the incident which took place during last night as being entirely not tolerable.

He voiced his concerns while entering a meeting with EU leaders in Brussels. Harris expressed that although he didn’t wish to dwell on the issue, he felt the use of the term ‘hoax’ was perhaps inappropriate, as the intent behind such actions is undoubtedly to cause alarm and distress. He reiterated he has young children and a spouse, emphasising the gravity of the untenable situation.

Further, Harris pointed out that the media should not label incidents where individuals congregate outside his house as a “protest”. He urged for a more thoughtful discourse, highlighting that if masked individuals were to appear outside anyone’s house, it wouldn’t be portrayed as a protest. Therefore, the term should not be applied if the occurrence was outside his home either, he explained.

On being questioned about his future living arrangements, whether he would relocate or continue living at his present home, he affirmed, “I’m staying in my home.”
