Undeniably, Taylor Swift, popularly known as T-Swizzle and acknowledged as the reigning Queen of Pop, is an irresistible figure these days, especially with her Eras tour making a stop in Dublin this week. For those unlucky fans who missed out on tickets to her three full-house gigs at Aviva Stadium over the weekend, our suggestion is to go on a digital detox from the social accounts of the fortuitous ticket-holders and indulge in Swift’s melancholic melodies on loop – a plan that this writer intends to implement resiliently, despite a potential emotional meltdown in response to the unyieldly summer; if tears flow, there’s always the option to simply ‘Shake It Off’.
Confirmations about Swift’s presence in Dublin are already circulating online. As per a couple of web reports, Taylor Swift – or, at a minimum, her private jet – has touched down at Dublin Airport.
Aviation enthusiast Shaun Dunne stated on his profile on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) @shauns_aviation, on Thursday night, about his plan for aircraft spotting around noon on Friday, with the likely backdrop of Swift’s popular tunes.
Living up to his word, he shared a clip from the airport’s observation spot on Friday morning, playing ‘Shake it Off’ in the background. By 12.16pm, Dunne announced that “she is down,” promising to upload pictures soon, some of which we have attached below.
Further confirmation was provided by another social media page on Bluesky platform – Taylor Swift’s Jet’s (Tracking) – which confirmed Dunne’s hunch about it being Swift’s jet indeed, adding that it had departed from London Stansted Airport around 11am and touchdown occurred at 11.56 am.
Evidence from an exhaustive online hunt suggests that some members of Swift’s crew, particularly her dancers, have already arrived in Dublin.
Sam McWilliams, a dancer from the Eras tour, shared an Instagram story from a Troye Sivan concert on Wednesday night. The concert appeared to be identical to the one held at the 3Arena in Dublin on the same day. Most performers often reveal their presence in a city or country after leaving, but McWilliams made his attendance public straight away due to his admiration for Sivan.
Furthermore, Taylor Swift’s well-known dancer, Kameron Saunders, reposted an Instagram story from Benjamin Williams, another dancer from Troye Sivan’s concert. The story showcased gratitude to Saunders for his presence at the concert, along with a photo of the pair implying that the entire event was very exciting. This action has generated strong beliefs that these dancers are indeed in Dublin.
Swift’s dancers also took to Instagram on Tuesday, bidding London farewell after the conclusion of their performance in Wembley Stadium the previous weekend. This suggests that they could be on their way to Dublin or might have already arrived.
Additionally, posts on X, formerly known as Twitter, indicate that the stage construction at Aviva is progressing. Based on information from the Taylor Swift Fandom website, the Eras tour stage layout includes a long catwalk approximately halfway through the floor area. It has a diamond-shaped space in the middle, which is utilized for performances by Swift and her dancers. The whole stage, including the lifts that move in the diamond-shaped region, is covered in LED panels.
After her successful three-night performance at London’s Wembley Stadium last weekend, Swift is now heading to Dublin. Her London appearances attracted a considerable celebrity turnout, and these high-profile attendees testify to the global adoration for the Fearless creator. Expectations are high for Dublin to be charmed by Swift’s upcoming performance.
To underline her popularity, we will carry on with the list of celebrities who watched Swift in London. But be warned, the list is quite extensive.
Travis Kelce, who is not only a Super Bowl champion for the Kansas City Chiefs, but also Taylor Swift’s partner, participated in all three Wembley performances where he also danced alongside her on stage Sunday. The Duke of Cambridge, accompanied by his two elder children, was also seen at Swift’s show. He engaged with Swift and Kelce later, and Swift shared an image of the event on social media. What drew even more eyeballs, however, was his captured jiving during the performance. At the other end, he seemed to have had a great time.
A number of celebrities, including Tom Cruise, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, and Hugh Grant, were sighted at Wembley on the preceding Saturday night. Reports also state Greta Gerwig, the director of “Barbie,” attended. Bridgerton’s Nicola Coughlan, a Galway native, alongside actors Salma Hayek and Leslie Mann, was at the Friday show.
In addition, Zara and Mike Tindall, Erin Andrews, Charissa Thompson, and Stella McCartney attended the show. Keir Starmer, Labour Party leader, model Cara Delevingne, and Jonathan van Ness of Queer Eye fame were also seen in attendance on Friday.
Known for her roles in the West Side Story and The Hunger Games prequel, the American actress Rachel Zegler posted on social media after attending the Saturday concert. The Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth also reportedly attended the Wembley concert.
Sunday’s concert attendees included Ellie Goulding and Gracie Abrams, who had just released a song titled “Us” featuring Swift on Friday, June 21st. Veteran musicians Paul McCartney and Jon Bon Jovi were spotted there as well.
What remains a mystery is the attendees for the weekend gig at Aviva. The question hovering around is where will Swift be spending her time?
