In an apartment at John Barry House, Midleton, Co Cork, a tragic incident occurred with a 27-year-old married mother reportedly found deceased under mysterious circumstances earlier today. The apartment is believed to have been her residence. It appears she may have experienced some form of harm, however, it’s only the results of the pending autopsy at Cork University Hospital by Assistant State Pathologist Dr Margaret Bolster, that will guide the trajectory of the investigation.
The Gardaí were summoned to the apartment shortly after the clock hit four in the afternoon on Friday due to reports of an injured woman. Upon their arrival, they were devastated to discover the woman already lifeless. Concurrently, part of the property was ablaze, thereby necessitating the presence of local firefighters who swiftly arrived to douse the flames. Both firefighters and Gardaí continue to dominate the scene, and road diversions have been implemented in the area.
In order to collect any potential leads, the Gardaí anticipate initiating a door-to-door inquiry in the locality to establish if anyone spotted any unusual activity today morning through to the afternoon.
