Dear Editor,
It was indeed a pleasure reading Frank McNally’s Journal about Percy French, published on October 10th. Merely a week ago, I had the opportunity to trek to the peak of the Mourne Mountains, more specifically, Slieve Donard. A self-celebration was in order over a drink at the aptly christened ‘Percy Bar’ in Newcastle. I look forward to extending an invite to the author, McNally, to accompany me on one of these adventures. Imagine us singing Percy’s renowned song on the summit of this majestic mountain, quite an experience that will be.
