Star Wars Moto X: Space Balls freestyle /video

What drives a man to spend money and two days of his life to go in the desert and shoot a short film which has as its protagonists two freestyle motocrossers disguised as Star Wars “Stormtroopers”? No, it’s not dementia.
The producer and director of this clip is a young man whose insane passion for the Star Wars saga – which in the United States had a far more powerful impact on local culture than in Europe – has pushed him to create this cheeky video.

As it often happens these days, the point is that this unusual combo of FMX and sci-fi film has quickly become an internet sensation across the world, giving its creator the famous 15 minutes of fame envisaged by Andy Warhol.
The success of this first clip prompted the author to start working on a second one, where the dumb Star Wars bad guys will take on some serious snowboarding.
There’s no accounting for taste, but we think this video is actually pretty cool, pretty funny and well-made.
It’s been shot in a quite professional way with the usual GoPro equipment – arguably the most popular cam among all the bikers across the world – and the equally essential Canon 5D and 7D.

The video was shot in the “Little Sahara State Park” in Utah, US, and feature freestylers Zak Collings, Justin Cox and Patrick Schooler trying out the force on a bunch of Yamahas.
