“St Patrick’s Day Sunshine Before Monday Rain”

The sun-drenched St Patrick’s parade weekend is set to be overtaken by the return of rainy weather this upcoming bank holiday Monday. Despite a primarily dry commencement, rain is anticipated to initiate in the West and consequently transfer across the remainder of the country throughout the afternoon and evening. The highest temperatures were predicted to be between 11 to 13 degrees, coupled with intensifying winds in the afternoon.

There’s an expectation for rain throughout the night resulting in a dip in the mercury to 5 degrees in some locations. Nevertheless, according to forecasts from Met Éireann, the persistent showers should hold back by Tuesday morning, with only occasional showers amidst periods of sunshine and cloud cover.

The fluctuating conditions may prevail for the majority of the week, with uninspiring weather projected for Wednesday and intermittent dry periods intermixed with showers in the country’s eastern and southern regions. Thursday may witness heavier morning showers prior to transitioning to a cloud-covered afternoon, with the thermometer reaching a high of 11 to 14 degrees.

Sunday saw a radiant sunshine gracing the grandest Dublin parade to date, with an estimated half a million attendees. While conditions varied across the regions, several festivities took place under clear skies, exemplified by the radiant sunshine experienced in Waterford.
