Spin Harley by Damien Hirst to be auctioned

A one off Harley-Davidson Cross Bones motorcycle painted by Brit artist Damien Hirst called the “Spin Harley” will be going up for auction for the Los Angeles based charity Project Angel Food on April 23rd.
Hirst decorated the Cross Bones bike using his centrifugal force paint technique, the unusual method involves pouring paint over the individual parts of the bike as they spin on a platform, then the parts were assembled.

Bidding for the unique piece begins at $100,000 and could potentially fetch millions.
Last year a spin painting Hirst created for the Product Red charity sold for $1.
8 million.
The world auction record for a motorcycle is $520,000, for a 1915 Cyclone.
The winning bidder will also receive two unique helmets designed by the artist.
The Hirst Harley is part of Angel Art, an event and benefit auction celebrating the 20th anniversary of Project Angel Food, which provides more than 11,000 free meals for people homebound or disabled by HIV/AIDS and other serious illnesses.
The event is taking place at the Creative Artists Agency in Los Angeles, and committee members include Naomi Watts, Robert Downey Jr.

and Tobey Maguire.
