There are rare moments in life when we have a few hours to ourselves. With work, family and daily commitments it doesn’t happen often – but when it does it’s a priceless gift! What better occasion, then, to pamper your body in a natural way with a complete beauty ritual? A Spa in house, only with organic products and DIY cosmetic recipes!

Spa in House: Exfoliating Scrub

Exfoliation helps to remove surface layers and clean skin pores deep down. For dry skin, the ideal is a scrub with oily and saline ingredients, using the oil you prefer as a base. For example, olive oil or sweet almond oil is fine. To this you must then add salt to obtain the abrasive effect.

Spread the scrub on your face by gently making circular movements with your fingers. Be careful not to exaggerate with the pressure in order not to redden the skin. Then massage the body as well, using your fingertips to apply pressure more vigorously than the face. In this way you will remove impurities and dead cells and reactivate the circulation. Rinse in the shower with warm water, using a mild cleanser only on the face.

DIY Bath Salts for a Relaxing Bath

If you want to make your bath even more pleasant, you can also add bath salts. These in fact improve relaxation, easing muscle tension, and stimulate the circulation, counteracting imperfections such as cellulite. If you want to prepare them at home, just add 10-12 grains of pink pepper, 1 tablespoon of rose petals, 1 tablespoon of sage, 2 tablespoons of coarse salt and a handful of white clay. You will have to chop everything with a blender. If you want them even more fragrant, you can add a few more drops of rose essential oil.

Face Mask for Spa in House

The heat opens up the pores of the skin, so after bathing you could make a DIY face mask. Mix 1 teaspoon of almond flour, 1 teaspoon of white clay, 1 teaspoon of honey and 2 drops of essential rose oil, adding enough hot water to obtain a creamy mixture. If you have very dry skin, use the yolk of an egg instead of honey. If it is impure, the egg white is better.

Apply to the face and leave on for 10 minutes before rinsing.

A Body Milk to Deeply Nourish the Skin

Finally, take care of your skin by preparing a nourishing body milk. Mix 3 tablespoons of white yoghurt, 4-5 drops of rose essential oil and 2 drops of sweet orange, 1 teaspoon of sweet almond or jojoba oil, 1 teaspoon of shea butter or beeswax. You will obtain a mix rich in vitamins and antioxidants, which makes the skin more elastic and protects it from the cold.
