Silva’s Return to Fluminense Post-Chelsea

The footballer Thiago Silva is expected to return to his earliest club, Fluminense, signing a two-year contract once his current commitment with Chelsea concludes at the end of the ongoing football season.
The 39-year-old first joined Fluminense for three seasons from 2006-08, stepping onto the pitch 143 times. Chelsea has permitted him to rejoin his ex-club before his present agreement ends on the 1st of July.
Following his stint at Paris St Germain as a free transfer, Silva has been a part of the Chelsea team, often referred to as the Blues, for four years in the western part of London. During his time there, he has been part of over 150 matches and was amongst the squad that triumphed in the 2021 Champions League.
A heartfelt statement from Chelsea appreciated Silva’s significant contribution, further stating that he had etched a permanent place in the hearts of the Blues’ devotees. In fact, the star player had earned himself the Football Club’s Player of the Year award after the 2022/23 season.
In a testament to his commitment to the Chelsea team, Silva received a standing ovation towards the end of a match against West Ham, which the Blues won resoundingly with a score of 5-0. This was in observance of his service to the club.
Silva will play his last game at Stamford Bridge when the Chelsea meets Bournemouth for the Premier League season finale. Mauricio Pochettino’s team, scheduled for away matches against Nottingham Forest and Brighton, will require a formidable finish to the season to surpass sixth-placed Newcastle and assure themselves a spot in the next season’s European football league.
