A young male has been accused of the murder of Shaun Brady, a citizen from Co Tipperary, in the USA, earlier this week. Unable to release the offender’s identity due to his age, he was also alleged to have made unsuccessful attempts of car theft, as reported by regional press resources. Mr Brady, a native of Nenagh, was shot following an argument outside his restaurant, situated in the neighbourhood of Brookside, Kansas City, Missouri on Wednesday. He allegedly found himself in the line of fire after intervening in a suspected vehicular theft.
The young offender is currently in secure custody and a trial will shortly be scheduled to decide if he can be prosecuted as an adult.
Shaun Brady was well-known for being the joint owner of Brady’s KC, a trendy spot serving traditional Irish food. Brady was a notable figure in the Irish-American community, especially during the yearly Kansas City Irish Fest which is set to kick off on Friday.
Having received his education at what was then recognised as Dublin Institute of Technology, now Technological University Dublin, he met his future wife from Kansas during her travel in Ireland. They sealed their relationship in matrimony in 2005.
The father of Mr Brady was the landlord of an established pub in Nenagh named The Brady Carmel, previously The Moon & Sixpence, situated in the Summerhill region. His family origins traced back to Ardcroney, situated just beyond Nenagh.
