Shane Lowry is prepared to go head-to-head with Scottie Scheffler in the concluding group competition at Bay Hill

At the Arnold Palmer Invitational, Shane Lowry enters the last day in joint first place with Scottie Scheffler, a fellow PGA Tour competitor. Lowry, an Irish golfer, scored a third round 70, involving six birdies and four bogeys, matching the score of his American competitor, Scheffler. The pair currently holds a nine-under-par standing for the tournament.

American Wyndham Clark trails the leaders by one stroke, while Rory McIlroy from Northern Ireland sits tied in eighth position with a five-under-par after a round of 68. This score included an equal course record on his final nine holes. Plus, McIlroy made history by being the first man to hit a 365-yard tee-shot on the 10th green.

McIlroy spoke to the PGA Tour’s official platform acknowledging his increasing drive length over recent years. He revealed his plan was not to land on the green but was pleased with the outcome.

McIlroy credits his recent success at the Dubai Desert Classic as a source of tactical knowledge. The golfer won the tournament by scoring nine-under-par on Saturday, followed by three-under on Sunday’s first nine holes, relying on a conservative game and securing pars afterwards. He believes on a challenging course, two strong nine-hole stretches can be enough to secure a win.
