The last time we mentioned World Rally champion Sébastien Loeb was back in 2009 when he took part in KTM “Track’N’Test” with his 2008 RC8 at the French circuit of the Bresse, and after winning the championship title in 2009 and 2010, the French driver decided to treat himself to another KTM motorcycle, the 1190 RC8 R.
Loeb took KTM’s Superbike for a spin, always at the Bresse track, and had this to say about the 2011 model which is fitted with an Akrapovic exhaust system and mounts Michelin tires, “I was out on my RC8 here back in April 2009 and how it compares to the new model is really interesting.
The way the power unfolds in the RC8 R is smoother, it has more power and at the same time has less vibration.
The motorcycle is more agile, it’s much lighter to ride and suits this very technical circuit much better.
” Jerome Delziani, KTM’s marketing manager for Southern Europe was quoted as saying, “I am very pleased with our collaboration and the interest Sebastien has on our models since 2006.
It now follows the evolution of our range with our Superbike.
At KTM, we have the DNA of the competition and Sebastian is a model, an inspiration.
He rolls with the same passion, regardless of the number of wheels.
It is a great champion and a great man.
Its ease is also notable on two wheels and we are proud to contribute to the popularity of the bike.
