Ryanair has announced plans to increase flight services in Sweden in response to the government’s decision to eliminate an aviation tax. The company said it would augment its Swedish fleet with two more aircraft. The expansion, expected to take off in mid-2025, also includes the addition of ten new paths to international locations. Eddie Wilson, the CEO of Ryanair DAC, the largest airline in the group, remarked at a Stockholm press conference that Sweden has become instantly more appealing. The abolished tax, set out by the Swedish right-wing government, was initially instituted in 2018 by its centre-left predecessors as an attempt to combat climate change by increasing the cost of carbon emissions.
