“Ryanair Claims €500 Christmas Dublin Fares”

As per Ryanair, a passenger restriction at Dublin’s biggest airport could potentially drive up the air fares between Dublin and cities such as London to €500 this Christmas. The airport at Dublin is confined to a cap of 32 million passengers annually, a restriction that has provoked ire among airlines, with Ryanair and Aer Lingus included.

Eddie Wilson, who serves as the CEO of Ryanair DAC, anticipated on Thursday that because this lid prevents scheduling supplementary flights during winter, fares connecting Dublin, London and other hubs could potentially surge to €500 this year. Wilson predicted that this cap could cause air fares to revisit the prices of the 1980s over the winter season. Ryanair requested to supply an additional 300,000 seats for this winter, a request that regulators, he confirmed, have denied.
