Rome guided tours on a Segway

Someone will probably say that this is very American, and I’m also inclined to wonder what’s wrong the innocent bicycle (which can be quite sexy, especially when ridden by Italian women wearing stilettos).
But the firm Segway, after Florence, is offering Rome Segway tours.
Two tours a day are available, with the afternoon one offered in English.

Go to Segway Guided Tours for information in English as the official site is in Italian.
Segway had already undertaken urban tours in Madrid, in the time when people still didn’t know what the thing actually was.
It’s a two-wheel, electric transport for one occupant, with an innovative balance system that keeps the Segway autonomously vertical.
It’s ecological, versatile and fast though we’re not keen on the idea of packs of tourists rallying their way around Rome on a Segway.
But whatever the case, they’re great for city use and it’s not as easy to lose your umbrella-brandishing tour guide.
