While I have seen recommended speed limits in Italy for highway driving and overtaking, I have never heard of being fined for going too slow.
And yet in Rome, on the Cristoforo Colombo road between Eur and Ostia, speed cameras have been adjusted to fine drivers for slow driving.
The fining is intended to improve traffic flow and reduce circulation problems created by motorists going too slowly, but it appears the actual rule about a minimum speed is confusing.
To avoid receiving a fine for slow driving, as reported by Messaggero, drivers are advised to proceed “neither too slow nor too fast”.
Helpful, isn’t it?Photo
