Robbie Brennan Likely Successor as Meath Manager

Robbie Brennan is seen as a leading candidate to take over from Colm O’Rourke as manager of the Meath senior football team. Presently, he coaches Kilmacud Crokes, a team based in Stillorgan that has won the Dublin senior football championship three times in a row under his guidance, even achieving All-Ireland superiority in 2023 after defeating Glen in the Croke Park final.
It is expected that Bernard Flynn, ex-Meath forward and a co-worker of Brennan’s at Crokes, would be included in Brennan’s managerial staff. In 2005, Brennan, a resident of Dunboyne, had won a senior championship with the St Peter’s club and had also been part of the Meath team during Flynn’s period as manager for the county’s under-20 team.
Cathal Ó Bric, who delivered All-Ireland minor victory for Meath in 2021, is also viewed as a key contender for the job. He recently led the under-20 team to a title in Leinster. Lar Wall, another potential candidate who previously managed Gaeil Colmcille and brought the Downs to a Westmeath senior championship in 2022, could also come into reckoning due to his intercounty expertise from his time with Davy Burke’s Roscommon this season.
