Restore the Charm of Classic Storefronts

Dear Editor,

Having recently partaken in a fascinating discourse regarding historic Irish storefronts during Culture Night in Letterkenny, it truly made me comprehend the displeasing aesthetics of the synthetic neon signs that are swiftly taking the place of these traditional storefronts. The loss of the classic style of lettering, colour usage and a plain yet striking layout is apparent.

Perhaps, it is due, we as a community encourage businesses to decline the use of plastic and return to styles that seamlessly blend with the local landscape of Ireland’s charming towns and villages.

Kind Regards,
Eileen Bannan,
Letterkenny,
Co Donegal.
