Residential building in Miami partially collapsed

A report revealed that a multi-storeyed residential building in Miami partially collapsed on Thursday. It was an eleven-storey apartment block named Champlain Towers South.

Until now, at least one person has died, numerous are injured and still not has confirmation about how many people still inside the building. A boy successfully pulled out alive from under the rubble.

The Miami-Dade Fire and Rescue Department said it had sent more than 80 units to the location with support from local fire departments. It said that a media platform zone set up at a range near 86 Street & Collins Avenue.

Residents at collapsed building relocated to other place

According to the report, residents relocated to the Surfside Community Centre. Streets in the neighbourhood were barred. The caused building collapse still unknown.

Surfside Mayor Charles W Burkett told, “This is a horrific catastrophe. In the United States, buildings just don’t collapse”. Miami-Dade County mayor Daniella Levine Cava tweeted that her prayers are with people who impacted by the tragedy and their families. She was also grateful to Miami Dade Fire and Miami Beach Fore and all first responders on the scene. She didn’t forget to mention to them to stay safe while working.

The Miami Beach Police department also revealed on Twitter that they and the Miami Beach Fire Department & Ocean Rescue are supporting the town of Surfside in the saving operations.
