Reports from Croatia suggest that five individuals have tragically lost their lives in a care home

In a tragic event in the Croatian city of Daruvar, located to the east of Zagreb, a man with a gun killed five individuals in a nursing home, as reported by Croatian news outlets. Also reported were five wounded victims, who were subsequently taken to various hospitals, the Health Minister Vili Baros shared on N1 TV.

The horrific act resulting in the loss of five lives in the Daruvar nursing home was met with shock, according to a statement made by Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic on X. The perpetrator, identified as a war veteran born in 1973, burst into the nursing home and opened fire, claiming the lives of his mother and four others, says the coverage.

Following the brutal event, the assailant escaped the scene. He was eventually apprehended by law enforcement, as reported by N1 news portal.

Daruvar, located in the northwestern area of Croatia, is celebrated for its long-standing wine-making tradition.
