Reggio Emilia: the biggest donkey rally in the world

If you love animals and donkeys in particular, Quattro Castella, a small town near Reggio Emilia, is undoubtedly the place to be.
From 6th to 8th June there will be the biggest donkey rally ever seen in the world.
More than 2000 donkeys coming from every corner of Italy, Spain, France and Portugal will all be gathered at Montebaducco, one of the biggest donkey farms in Europe.

This donkey fair will not only feature shows, pageants and long walks in the woods, but people will also have the opportunity to find out more about pet therapy (good for disabled or disadvantaged children) and the healthy organoleptic qualities of donkey’s milk which, thanks to new studies, seems to be quite similar to mothers’milk.
The idea behind the production of this event is quite noble too, the organisers want to widen people’s knowledge of donkeys, and underpin at the same time all the activities related to this funny and endearing animal that somehow seems to belong to a more distant era.
By the way, they will also present a charter of donkey’s rights!
