Ravetto Clinches Maiden DP World Title

David Ravetto secured his initial victory on the DP World Tour with a remarkable final round of 64, leaving contender Jesper Svensson behind at the Czech Masters’ 16th hole. On Sunday, the 27-year-old Ravetto accelerated his game with six birdies within the first nine holes in Prague, converting a single-shot lead over Svensson into a three-shot advantage.

Svensson responded with his own birdie at the 10th, closing the gap to a single-shot after Ravetto’s bogey on the 12th. However, a defining moment arrived when Svensson struggled off the 16th tee for the second consecutive day. This time, he needed four hits to reach the green and then three-putted, contrasting his impressive performance the previous day.

Frenchman Ravetto confidently secured his significant DP World Tour title in Prague. He navigated his ball skillfully just before the green, eventually putting it for a birdie, which, coupled with Svensson’s struggles, gave him a four-shot lead and a clear path to victory.

Ravetto stated: “The strategy was to enjoy the game, which served us well. Despite experiencing some nervousness and shaky hands, which is quite common when under pressure, practice helped ensure a smooth performance.”

The golfer could hardly contain his emotions, almost tearing up in the middle of the fairway. Seeing his caddie and girlfriend drew out the tears. Ravetto is eagerly planning celebration parties in Prague and possibly in Paris in the coming week.

On the other hand, Scotland’s Richie Ramsay, Adrien Saddier and Frederic Lacroix of France finished tied for the third place at 18 under par. The English trio, Brandon Robinson Thompson, Alex Fitzpatrick, and Paul Waring, shared sixth place alongside Austria’s Bernd Wiesberger, each finishing at 16 under par.
