Rally for Supporting Palestine

Dear Editor, – I am writing to express my disappointment at the lack of print coverage for the remarkable march staged in Dublin on October 5th by the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign. Even though your online report was commendable, the lack of mention in the Monday print edition was most unfortunate. The march was arguably the most significant politically-focused outpouring in Dublin in recent times.

The event garnered massive support from several civil society organisations, one of which was the Irish Congress of Trade Unions. Lack of any reference to this colossal demonstration in the print could lead to a misunderstood interpretation of the Irish public’s reaction towards the adversities in Gaza and currently in Lebanon. – Kind Regards,

DES DERWIN,
Secretary,
Dublin Council of Trade Unions,
Dublin 1.
