Dear Editor,
I find myself aligning with Klaus Harvey’s perspective concerning the issue of plastic cups (Letters, August 5th). However, Harvey had the advantage of availabe catering service on his train journey between Dublin and Cork, a luxury not extended to passengers commuting on other rail routes throughout the Republic.
During my recent travel to Westport, I had the arduous task of managing both my luggage and the cup of coffee I purchased at the station, which I must say, is quite a challenge for we who are a bit older! Could not the authorities arrange for a refreshment-cart service for these train trips, similar to the one present on Cork trains, especially considering the journeys are of similar length?
Yours sincerely,
Margaret Butler,
