Jon Rahm, who just became a father and faced illness, is all set to compete in the Spanish Open at Club de Campo, Madrid – a ground he considers his hometown turf. This comes after his successful plea against fines imposed on him, making him eligible to play on home soil. Rahm, linked to LIV Golf, is also aiming to secure a place in Europe’s Ryder Cup team next year.
To meet the eligibility criteria for Luke Donald’s squad in Bethpage in twelve months, Rahm will be seen playing in the second out of the four requisite tour events. His golfing schedule may expand to the Dunhill Links next week and potentially the Andalucía Masters the following month.
Returning to the tournament with a triumphant past, Rahm is a three-time Spanish Open champion, and two of these victories were achieved on the Madrid course.

Shane Lowry is the solitary Irish participant in the competition as he nears the conclusion of his busy playing period. Lowry, who is scheduled to join Tommy Fleetwood and Nacho Elvira in the initial two rounds of a three-man match, has participated in eight out of the past nine weeks. Another tournament, the Dunhill Links, is still to come before he can have a prolonged break. He will be heading towards the high-stake end-of-season matches in the UAE in November.
Lowry has expressed that he remains committed to winning and continuously pushing himself into a winning position despite already displaying a substantial level of solidity and achieving decent outcomes throughout the current year. Despite assisting Rory at one point, Lowry has yet to secure his own victory. His prime focus for the remaining four matches of the season is to achieve this win.
