Purever Group Acquires Dublin’s Ardmac

Ardmac, a Dublin-based global specialist contracting firm, has been acquired by the multinational industrial group, Purever Industries, for an undisclosed amount. Known for its provision of clean, technical, and working environments to various sectors – from life sciences and data to micro-electronics and electric vehicle (EV) battery production – Ardmac has a workforce of approximately 500 and had a turnover of €200 million in 2023.

A key player in the worldwide manufacture of cleanroom and isothermal products, Purever Industries caters to a vast array of markets. Globally operational in seven nations and distributing products in over 80 countries, the Portugal-based firm, initially founded in Madrid, Spain in 2001, has around 1,100 employees and reported revenues of €222 million in 2023.

Post-acquisition, Purever’s CEO, Luis Coelho Borges, will take charge of the company, backed up by the existing management team during the business integration and transition phase. With no impending changes to its identity and structure, Ardmac will persist in its operations and trading protocol.

According to Borges, this acquisition signifies a milestone in Purever’s journey towards expansion and diversification of its primary services. He underscores the potential synergies emerging from this transaction that will foster growth within both businesses, adding an edge over their market competitors.

Expressing his delight over the acquisition, Ardmac’s CEO, Ronan Quinn, views Purever’s acquisition as a robust complement to Ardmac’s drive for future growth. He affirms that the merger will enhance both firms’ capabilities, expertise, and scalability. Quinn appreciates the privilege of directing Ardmac during a growth-oriented phase and voices his gratitude towards the remarkable team efforts. He expressed his relief knowing that Ardmac’s growth potential is in nurturing hands under Purever’s leadership.

Capnua Corporate Finance and William Fry provided transaction guidance to Ardmac, while PLEN in Portugal and Matheson in Ireland served as advisers to Purever. Ardmac, founded in 1977, has evolved from a small Irish entity to a prominent supplier of advanced clean rooms, data centre solutions, specialised renovations, and the construction of turn-key manufacturing facilities throughout Europe, with its headquarters sitting in Swords, Dublin.

However, the purchase does not encompass Cental Engineering Ltd, a Carlow-based firm in which Ardmac shareholders bought an equity share in 2020. The trading activities of Cental will persist as usual.
