Regarding the suggestion to change the name of the proposed Glasnevin Metrolink station to honour the Brian Boru pub (News, March 13th), should the Metrolink ever come to fruition, I propose a different name. It would be fitting to name it Cross Guns Station, considering this name is clearly marked on John Taylor’s 1816 map of Dublin and its surroundings. Moreover, generations of Dubliners have referred to the area as such.
