Portofino Kulm: spa and wellness centre

Portofino, this small fishing town on the Italian Riviera and looking out on the Tigullian Gulf and the Gulf of Paradise, was even mentioned by Nietzsche, one of the greatest philosophers that has ever lived.
Anyway the fortunes of the village, much loved by the English aristocracy, started to rise in 1908 when a beautiful hotel called Portofino Kulm was established.

A beautiful Art-Nouveau building superbly decorated and which immediately attracted the upper crust; even the Italian Royal Family loved to sojourn there and famous artists and writers such as Gabriele D’Annunzio (who even changed the name of the hotel to Portofino Vetta) and Giacomo Puccini were habitual customers.
Gugliemo Marconi, the great scientist, would pass many afternoons there, relaxing, drinking tea and reading.
Today the hotel has gone back to its previous name Portofino Kulm, featuring a Messeguè wellness centre for massages and beauty treatments, a very nice restaurant by Zeffrino and now thanks to collaboration with the Parco Naturale Regionale of Portofino, Portofino Kulm clients will also be able to enjoy excursions and more.
