Police crack down on illegal street racing (w/video)

They turned Maglie-Gallipoli expressway in Puglia into a Grand Prix racing circuit for over a year and riding in broad daylight at over 300 km/h amid traffic and even racing on the wrong side of the highway.
The Carabinieri and Guardia di Finanza (Finance police) cracked down on a ring of twelve bikers after infiltrating the group who organized the races every weekend and seized eight tricked out bikes and one that was ready to be introduced into the underground racing operation.

The police also found a computer with files on how to prepare the bikes and videos of the races that were then uploaded on YouTube.
The bikers will have to respond to illegal street racing (Article 416 of the Criminal Code in relation to Articles 9 and 9a of the Highway Code) with the purpose of gambling.
