Pol Espargaro takes second win of the season at Silverstone

After dominating the entire weekend at (except for the warm-up) Pol Espargaro took his victory of the season with a commanding win in today’s Moto2 race at Silverstone.
Espargaro was tatically perfect, he let Scott Redding and Bradley Smith battle it out for the lead over the first laps and giving the English fans something to cheer about, but then the Tech3 rider to started to fade and Espargaro moved on to Redding’s tail and on the seventh lap made his move and overtook the VDS rider and started to pull away leaving a fading Redding who dropped to fourth after being passed by both Andrea Iannone and Marc Marquez.

The Italian and the Spaniard would keep the race exciting as Espargaro escaped, but it was Redding who suddenly changed pace and began chasing the two in front of him.
Iannone began to fade losing pace compared to Marquez whose rhythm also changed and he too slowed down.
Redding began posting some very fast laps caught up to the Spaniard with just seven laps left in the race.

Redding and Marquez hotly exchanged positions and in the final lap the two were almost head to head and the fight went to the line with Redding getting the better drive out of the last two turns and taking the second spot on the podium and leaving Marquez the third spot and just0.
069s adrift, but the Spaniard now leads in the championship standings by six points over Espargaro-Andrea Iannone took fourth after battling with his fellow countryman Simone Corsi, while Claudio Corti took sixth.
Bradley Smith after leading the race ended up seventh followed by a struggling Thomas Lüthi.
Dominique Aegerter and Redding’s teammate Mika Kallio closed out the top ten.
