Met Éireann predicts agreeable weather conditions over the weekend, characterised by largely dry and sunny spells. Morning mist and fog will recede, leading to a predominantly dry day featuring ample sunshine. The highest temperatures are estimated to fluctuate between 16 and 20 degrees, propelled by gentle, fluctuating breezes.
Tonight’s forecast is for dry weather with frequent clear spells, disturbed slightly by sporadic patches of mist and fog. The lowest temperatures are projected to drop to between 7 and 11 degrees in light, fluctuating winds.
The weather tomorrow, Saturday, is set to be enjoyable with largely dry and sunny conditions. As the day progresses, clouds may increase from the south and southeastern coasts, potentially causing an isolated shower in the southeastern region towards nightfall. The day’s highest temperatures will range from 18 to 22 degrees.
Night-time weather will retain its dry features with clear spells. However, cloud cover will gradually thicken from the south during the night, producing a few showers or light drizzle, particularly within south Munster and southern and eastern Leinster. The lowest temperatures are set to fall within the 11 to 14 degree range.
Most regions will experience dry weather on Sunday, with sunny interludes, predominantly in the northern areas. However, it’s anticipated to be predominantly overcast in the east and south with occasional light drizzle. As the afternoon progresses, cloud cover will increase, and rain will make its presence from the southwest. The highest temperatures will range from 18 to 21 degrees.
Sunday night will see the rain, some of it heavy, gradually moving towards the north-east. Nevertheless, clearing will set in from the southwest, leaving scattered showers in the southwest and lowest temperatures spanning 9 to 14 degrees.
Expect lingering rainfall in the north and northeast regions come Monday before it makes way. While the day may offer a bit of sun, it’s likely to be interrupted by showers. It appears the rainfall may be most extensive in the west and southwest regions, with potential for heavy downpour, thunder and possibly prolonged periods of rain. On the brighter side, better dry weather conditions and sunshine can be anticipated in the east, with peak temperatures ranging between 15 to 19 degrees.
Similar thermal readings are predicted for Tuesday and Wednesday. Low pressure seems set to persist, carrying on the mix of sun and intermittent showers or extended periods of rain, potentially heavy and thunderous.
The further outlook is shaky. Despite low pressure potentially holding sway, there’s still a decent likelihood of high pressure rising once again, ushering in calmer weather.
