Renowned globally as one of the best live performers, the celebrated pop sensation, Pink, also known as Alecia Beth Moore or P!nk, will be visiting Dublin for her Summer Carnival tour. She will be entertaining her fans with her two shows, scheduled for the 20th and 21st of June, at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium. Her shows are renowned for her energetic performances, featuring carnival themed aerial stunts and dance routines, as well as several costume transitions.
Since Pink’s music career started in 2000, she has launched 8 albums, a greatest hits album, achieving sales of more than 140 million albums globally. With a record of 15 singles positioned in the Billboard Hot 100 chart’s top 10 (and four reaching number one), she’s booked and played to full houses worldwide. Her accolades include three Grammy Awards, 21 Grammy nomination, a Daytime Emmy Award, seven MTV Video Music Awards, which include the 2017 Vanguard Award, two MTV Europe Awards, two People’s Choice Awards, in addition to being named Billboard’s Woman of the Year in 2013. In 2019, she was also presented with The Brits Outstanding Contribution To Music Award.
As she is about to perform at the Aviva Stadium, this guide will provide all the necessary details for those who are lucky enough to have tickets for one of Pink’s fully booked shows. Her Summer Carnival will be held at the Aviva Stadium on 20th and 21st June.
Regrettably, both of her Dublin concerts are sold out. However, you might get lucky by finding resale tickets on ticketmaster.ie – ensure you only purchase tickets from certified sellers.
The venue will open their doors at 5pm and the show is expected to commence at 6pm. Sharing the stage with Pink will be Rag’n’Bone Man, GAYLE, and the DJ and producer, KidCutUp.
The tour organisers are informing spectators to plan for additional travel time to and from the stadium. As there will invariably be traffic delays and parking issues, attendees are advised to travel by foot, cycle, or utilise public or private transport services.
If you’re travelling to the stadium using the Luas, be prepared for a substantial walk of about 30 to 40 minutes from the nearest stops, which include Ranelagh, Charlemont, Harcourt, St Stephen’s Green, Dawson and Trinity along the Green Line.
If you’re arriving by train, the Lansdowne Road Dart station is conveniently less than a minute from the southern face of the stadium. Do bear in mind that there will be sizeable crowds at the same time as you, so plan ahead. Extra Dart services will be available, however, with Irish Rail advising passengers to be wary of their travel plans to account for potential delays due to increased passenger numbers during event times. If you’re not attending events at the stadium, avoiding these routes is recommended. After concerts, the Grand Canal Dock Station will be closed for large events as part of a Garda event plan.
Regarding bus transportation, the Dublin Bus routes which operate full service closest to the Aviva Stadium are the 4, 7, 7a, 39a, 46a, 145, and 155.
For those intending to drive, caution as there won’t be any bike or car parking facilities at the stadium on concert days for security reasons. However, commercial parking lots around the city, for instance, Claremont Parking or Q-Park, could be an option but are limited. If you’re travelling from outside the county it would be useful to have a contact with some driveway space within the M50. For taxi drop-offs, either Pembroke Road/Northumberland Road junction or the junction of Tritonville Road and Herbert Road are recommended, based on your ticket’s colour route designation.
Curious about the kind of music to expect? From her recent concert performance at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, these are some songs fans might be treated to: ‘Get the Party Started’, ‘Raise Your Glass’, ‘Who Knew’, ‘Just Like a Pill’, ‘What About Us’ (dance remix), ‘Heartbeat’, ‘Turbulence’, ‘I’m Not Dead’ (an excerpt for an ongoing “guess that tune” game with a pianist), ‘Make You Feel My Love’ (a Bob Dylan cover) where P!nk herself hit the ivories, and ‘Just Give Me a Reason’.
F**kin’ Perfect and Just Like Fire will be performed alongside Heartbreaker in Act III. Subsequent performances include Please Don’t Leave Me (Acoustic Version) as well as Cover Me in Sunshine in collaboration with Willow Sage Hart. Other performances in the line-up include acoustic renditions like Don’t Let Me Get Me, along with other anticipated numbers like When I Get There, What’s Up?—this one being a 4 Non Blondes cover. Act IV will feature powerful performances, some of which include Try, Trustfall, and Never Gonna Not Dance Again. An encore will mark the close of the performance with the rapturous So What.
With regards to concert security, individuals under 16 must be in the company of an adult over 25. Standing tickets are only available to attendees aged 14 or above. Unaccompanied individuals under 16 are not allowed on the pitch. Avoid bringing a bag unless crucial, as it will be subject to search and delay your admission. Remember that bags must be smaller than an A4 paper size as there is no storage available on site. Prohibited items range from umbrellas, large lens cameras and glass vessels, to scooters, skateboards, suitcase and all animals except for service dogs and guide dogs.
Re-admittance is not permitted and note that no transactions will take place at the cashless Aviva Stadium.
If you have any concerns regarding disabled access, contact MCD productions through their email address access@mcd.ie. They deal with matters related to accessible parking and wheelchair access.
Photography with a smartphone or small digital camera will be allowed, however professional cameras with detachable lens are not permitted, as are other recording devices.
