Born in Hungary in 1901, photographer Lucien Aigner left Europe for America in the early 1940s but his name as an important photojournalist was established in 1935 when he took a photo of Mussolini while sneezing at the Stresa Conference.
That photo, which was published on the cover of Newsweek in 1940, brought him instantaneous fame.
Now this famous picture – along with many other Aigner’s important works – is on display at the DeCordova Sculpture Park in New England.
