In an unforeseen tragedy, a man in his middle years has lost his life after being hit by a purloined vehicle in a hit and run occurrence in Dublin’s northern area. Authorities stated that the vehicle involved didn’t stop following the collision, which happened around 1am on Baldoyle’s coastal road, Dublin 13. Law enforcement officers are now soliciting any witnesses to come forward.
Traffic diversions are currently in operation but these are predicted to be lifted later in the day. The local coroner has been informed, and plans are in progress for an autopsy.
Meanwhile, the Public Order Unit of Garda dispersed protestors assembled at a housing site for asylum seekers in Coolock. Additionally, a Dublin resident has been imprisoned for three years after violently assaulting his partner to unconsciousness, leading to their child being left to wander streets in search of help.
The road was sealed off momentarily, enabling Garda forensic collision inspectors to conduct an evaluation.
Law enforcement officers revealed the instigation of a Section 102 referral under the Garda Síochána Act to the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission (GSOC), although this referral is not directly linked with the fatal traffic collision.
Gardaí are reaching out to individuals who might have captured the incident on their cameras, specifically those who were travelling in the vicinity at the time. They are required to share this footage with law enforcement officers carrying out the investigation. They can contact Howth Garda station on 01 666 4900, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
Due to a significant incident, Dublin Bus officials announced that the H1 and H2 services are unable to access Baldoyle village or the coastal road.
