Pedestrian Fatality in Cork Traffic

A man in his 40s, a pedestrian, tragically lost his life following a vehicular collision in Midleton, Co Cork. The fatal incident transpired on the eastbound lane of the N25 at Water Rock, Midleton, in the early wee hours of Sunday, around 1:30 am. The unfortunate man was struck by a vehicle and was subsequently declared dead at the site of the tragic incident. No other serious injuries were noted.

As a result of the tragic occurrence, the road was temporarily closed, with forensic collision investigators being enlisted to probe into the matter. Local detours have been put in operation.

The Gardaí have made a public appeal for witnesses of the incident to step forward and help with the investigation. In particular, they are interested in motorists who were travelling on the eastbound lane of the N25 between 1:15 am and 1:30 am and have camera footage, for instance, dashcam recordings. They are requested to provide the footage to the Gardaí.
