Palestinian Teen Killed in West Bank

The Israeli military is examining an event where a 13-year-old Palestinian boy was reportedly killed by Israeli troops during an invasion in the West Bank, as noted by the official Palestinian press agency, Wafa. Clashes erupted with the Israeli forces during an early morning military incursion in the Qabatiya town, located south of Jenin city, detailed the Wafa news. The Israeli armed forces stated it was fired upon by a group of Palestinian gunmen and retaliated. They have assured that the event’s facts are currently under scrutiny.

Previously, the Lebanese PM, Najib Mikati, expressed his disapproval of the alleged assault on UN forces residing in Southern Lebanon which led to the injury of three UN observers as well as an interpreter while they were strolling outside the border town of Rmeish. The source of the explosion is yet to be determined, stated the UN peacekeeping mission. The incident, marking peacekeepers as targets, was termed “unacceptable” by Unifil. Negating any association with the incident, the Israeli military issued a denial.

Furthermore, the Israeli military confirmed the continuation of operations near Gaza’s largest hospital, al-Shifa, in Gaza City for the 13th consecutive day. With most Palestinian region hospitals being non-operational, the health system is just about “keeping its head above water”, as per the UN humanitarian agency OCHA.

Hamas stated that in addition to the ongoing al-Shifa operation, the Israeli forces persistently display “aggression” towards Nasser hospital and continue to “surround” al-Amal hospital, located in the same city. This statement was supplemented by the Israeli army confirming ongoing operations in the al-Amal region of Khan Younis.

Hamas’ media office reported over 50 Israeli air raids within a span of 24 hours on Saturday. “Civilian homes” across the coastal territory were targeted, coupled with tank artillery in the Gaza City region and southern Gaza.

The Gaza Health Ministry, overseen by Hamas, reported 82 Palestinians lost their lives and another 98 were wounded during the Israeli attacks over the previous 24 hours.

The Israeli military confirmed that multiple sites, which included militants and their residential areas in central and northern Gaza, were attacked.
