In Newry, a car accident resulted in injuries to two officers of the law and a layman. The incident, involving two vehicles on Fathom Road, occurred just shortly prior to half past seven on Saturday evening. The officers were responding to an unrelated matter when their vehicle came into contact with another car.
Authorities from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, along with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service were quick to reach the accident location and provide immediate first aid. Inspector Jonathan Porter, a representative from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), commented on the scene, stating that everyone involved in the accident was delivered to the hospital. He reassured that the injuries are not deemed to be life-threatening.
Inspector Porter extended his wishes for a quick and complete recovery to the policemen and the civilian involved. An investigation is now in motion to uncover the exact circumstances leading to the collision. Following the incident, all routes of travel previously affected have been reinstated. – PA
