Reports suggest that Oasis will be joined on stage by Richard Ashcroft, former lead vocalist of The Verve, and alternative rock band Cast for their performances in Britain and Ireland next year. These two acts will be the opening entertainment for all of Oasis’s planned gigs in these countries, as reported by London’s Independent. In addition, Cage the Elephant has been billed as the opening act for the American portion of the reunion tour.
Ashcroft has maintained a close friendship with both Liam and Noel Gallagher for many years, having received earlier support from Oasis back in 1993. In recent times, Cast also had the opportunity to open performances for Liam during his Definitely Maybe 30th Anniversary Tour.
The schedule includes two live performances by Oasis in Croke Park, Ireland on the 16th and 17th of August next year.
Last month, Liam hinted to his followers on X/Twitter regarding Ashcroft joining the band’s 2025 gigs, stating that it would be “biblical”. Furthermore, he confirmed earlier this month that Oasis’s 2025 shows would be supported either by Ashcroft or the Manic Street Preachers. “All we need now is to be CAST away on our jolly travels,” he added. An official announcement regarding this matter is anticipated for next week.
