The organisers of the Oasis comeback gigs have unveiled plans to start invalidating tickets that have breached the set terms and conditions. The results of the ongoing scrutiny of ticket sales are set to be forwarded to the proper law enforcement authorities. Organisers have issued a warning to fans against purchasing tickets from unofficial platforms due to the risk of fraudulent tickets.
This announcement follows the confirmation of the band’s return in 2025 – their first reunion since a backstage fight in France at a Rock en Seine festival performance resulted in their split. The series of concerts are scheduled to take place in Manchester, Cardiff, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin.
According to a representative of the organising team, the process of invalidating non-compliant tickets will commence soon, in line with promises made by the band during pre-sale for Oasis Live ’25.
The tour’s promoters, Ticketmaster and See Tickets, will spearhead this ticket cancellation drive to penalise secondary ticketing companies who have driven up the prices for profit. The strategy has been fairly successful, with only 4 per cent of tickets surfacing on resale websites, compared to a typical figure of 20 per cent on other large tours.
Once declared invalid, these tickets will be put up for sale again on Ticketmaster at their face value, with further details to be revealed in due course.
In other news, it has been announced that the Liverpool-based Britpop band, Cast, is set to be Oasis’ second support act for all 19 concerts on the UK and Ireland tour. Cast’s lead singer, John Power, who launched his career with The La’s, expressed his excitement over the reunion tour by praising Oasis as a generational band whose music continues to inspire many dreams. He also expressed his eagerness to reconnect with his family’s Irish roots when the tour arrives in Dublin.
It’s already been declared that Richard Ashcroft, ex-lead singer of The Verve, will be joining as an opening act for the concert tour. – PA
