The burial service for Nicole Morey, a victim of a fatal canine assault in County Limerick, is slated to occur on the coming Monday morning. Ms Morey, a native of Crossgalla, Limerick city had returned around 11:30 pm last Tuesday to her rented residence in Fedamore, County Limerick after celebrating her 23rd birthday. Tragically, she was mortally wounded by her four canines upon entering her home.
The death notice on RIP.ie states that her untimely death is a deep sorrow to her parents Lisa and Patrick, stepparents Joseph and Nicola, siblings, extended family including aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents Gerry Morey and Teresa O’Donnell and numerous friends. It also mentions her grandparents Patrick O’Donnell Snr and Marie Morey had passed away not too long ago.
The proceedings of Ms Morey’s burial will commence at the Holy Family Church, Southhill, at 11 am on Monday with a requiem Mass before proceeding to the final interment at the Mount St Oliver Cemetery. The family home is reserved for their private use.
The canine that initiated the assault was exterminated by the Garda Armed Response Unit. The other three dogs, also under restriction, confiscated from the location have been euthanised.
A memorial service in honour of Ms Morey took place on Thursday night at her mother, Lisa Morey’s house in Crossgalla, Limerick. Over 200 people attended the event. As a tribute, Jolene Morey, sister of the deceased, initiated a countdown following which hundreds of colourfully inflated balloons were released into the sky. A compilation of Ms Morey’s favourite tunes played in the background during this emotive ceremony.
