You may remember reading that Ducati while checking out Nicky Hayden’s data, found that the Kentucky Kid was inadvertently touching and dragging his rear brake, especially in mid corners and was also having the same problem with his gear shift peg, that could have had greater and more dangerous consequences for the rider.
So Ducati designed and made these new footpeg brackets that Hayden is using on his Ducati D16 GP09 in the IRTA test.
According to Ducati’s Christian Puplin who jokingly said that these pegs are ‘pretty ugly’ at the moment, but are still working on more definite ones.
Hayden has often been troubled by rear brake issues due to his dirt track background and when he was in Repsol Honda they used to fit a rubber band to stop him from applying so much pressure on the rear brake.
