Nick Sheridan, the Irish host at the BBC, has passed away at the delicate age of 32 after a brief period of sickness

BBC Scotland confirmed on Thursday that their presenter and reporter, Nick Sheridan, passed away at the age of 32 following a brief illness. His heartening personality and ability to radiate positivity to everybody around him earned him an honorary tribute on social media.

Originally hailing from Co Wexford, Sheridan was a former employee of STV and RTÉ in Dublin before he established his career in BBC Scotland in 2018. He lent his talenst to various shows such as the flagship news programme Reporting Scotland, the Nine, and Seven Days.

BBC Scotland’s Head of News and Current Affairs, Gary Smith, was heartbroken to lose his dear colleague and friend, Nick Sheridan. Smith acknowledged Sheridan’s multifaceted talents as a journalist, presenter, and author, and reiterated his infectious charm that brought happiness to everyone around him. The tragic news has deeply affected Sheridan’s partner, parents, and the rest of his family and friends.
