“Niall Horan’s Dublin Concert Essentials”

Niall Horan, the original One Direction member, has returned home this week to perform two concerts at The Royal Hospital Kilmainham as a part of his most ambitious tour, The Show – Live On Tour 2024. This will be his first major headline series of shows since his Flicker World Tour in 2018. His most recent album, also titled The Show and released in June 2023, is a spirited mix of aspirational indie ballads.

Horan has previously captivated the audience at the 3Arena earlier this year, showcasing his professional prowess and confidence on the electric guitar, according to reviewer Aoife Moriarty. Dermot Kennedy, the fellow Irish artist, joined Horan unexpectedly for a live rendition of the popular hit Outnumbered. Fans in Kilmainham might be in for a surprise performance this time as well.

Niall Horan will be performing at the Irish Museum of Modern Art, Royal Hospital Kilmainham, Dublin 8, on Friday, August 23rd, and Saturday, August 24th. Regrettably, the tickets for both the concerts are sold out. However, fans might have a chance if any resale tickets show up on the Ticketmaster website, but they must ensure to source them from authorised agents only.

If you are planning to attend either of his acts in Dublin, there are a few things to remember. Download your tickets to your iPhone wallet/Google Pay wallet in advance as network reception at the venue might not be reliable. Gates open at 5pm and the last entry is allowed at 9.30pm.

American indie-pop artist Del Water Gap and budding German-born, Irish-based singer Elle Coves will be the warm-up acts for the audience before the ex-One Direction member graces the stage.

Please be aware that no parking is available for the gig at the specified location, with traffic regulations also being enforced on both Military Road and Kilmainham Lane. Park Rite on Queen Street, Dublin 7, is the closest public car park. As Kilmainham is home to many residents, all attendees are urged to consider the local community and not to park unlawfully or in residential areas. Various public transportation options are available for journeying to the concert:

Using Luas: Take the red line from The Point heading to Saggart or Tallaght, or vice versa, and disembark at Heuston Station. From there, entrance to the east gate is a mere five-minute walk along Military Road.

Utilising bus services: Buses numbered 20, 123 and 13 stop at St James’s Hospital; buses 79/ 79A halt at Saint John’s Road West; and the 25A ceases at Heuston Station.

Via train: The venue is a brief five-minute walk from Heuston station. You can find train schedules at irishrail.ie.

Concert-goers must enter through the east gate on Military Road, with signs pointing the way as one nears the site.
